Great to win like that for once too
While this match would have resulted in dropped points last month, it now turned out for the better just before the end. A late goal from Daley from a cross by Noa Lang meant the 2-1.
Before the break, it was already clear that inspiration was lacking. With Frenkie and Hakim missing, the creative part came solely from Dusan. With beautiful plays from our number 10, the arena occasionally came alive.
The same Tadic scored the 1-0 after half an hour of play. In the first half, there wasn't much else to experience. Something that can be explained after a tough schedule with good results.
In the second half, PEC showed a bit more of themselves, which did not immediately lead to danger. Because Ajax was not able to score the second goal, the danger at the back remained. Fifteen minutes before time, PEC equalized to 1-1 from a counter-attack.
The arena did what the boys needed: even more support from the stands. In a phase where the pressure was further increased, it was Noa Lang who, as a substitute, showed his qualities. With a cut-back cross, he assisted Daley who headed in the 2-1.
3 points, a frustrated bunch in the South, and looking forward to Sunday with a good feeling. This tough schedule is the flip side of success. Something that deserves appreciation, that even bad games are won during this period.
On to Sunday, the last match before a 14-day rest period.
3 points, have a nice day! AFCA - CBS
