The Netherlands in seventh place on UEFA ranking thanks to Ajax
The Netherlands can thank Ajax, our club brought in 74.4% of the total points, without them the Netherlands would now be in 29th place.
Thanks to the exceptionally good Champions League campaign of the Amsterdam club, the Netherlands finished seventh in the UEFA ranking this season. Only clubs from the five major football nations and Portugal have earned more points.

This concerns the coefficient list for this season only. This is not leading for the actual ranking that determines qualification places. However, this seventh place and the 8600 earned points are important for the Netherlands. Due to the high number of points this year, the Netherlands is eleventh in the overall ranking, just above Austria. This position grants a guaranteed Champions League ticket for next season's national champion.
Ajax is not solely responsible for the points earned. 74.4 percent of all coefficients obtained are due to Erik ten Hag's team. That the Netherlands is dependent on the record champion becomes clear when we imagine Ajax gone. Then 25.6 percent of the points obtained would remain and the Netherlands would only be in 29th place. Luxembourg is currently in that position.
