Ajax convinced and increases the pressure further

NAC was convincingly defeated at home; after a 1-0 lead at half-time, four more goals were scored in the second half. The deserved 5-0 victory meant that optimal advantage was taken of PSV's stumble.

In the first half, there were flashes of good football. Where in previous weeks heads sometimes dropped when things weren't going well, now there was visibly more demand from each other. Just before half-time, the score became 1-0 from a penalty. A blatant handball was judged as such by the VAReal.

In the second half, the first substitution was made, Dolberg replacing the tired Schone. Where Ajax was still searching before the break, they continued after the break where they had left off on Wednesday. An unprecedented attacking urge quickly led to the 2-0. A cut-back cross from Ziyech was smoothly extended with a backheel by Dolberg.

With the score at 2-0, the resistance of the guests from Breda was completely broken, and the show could begin. Goals followed in quick succession, and Neres showed his desire to make Ten Hag's choices even more difficult.

With a 5-0 lead, Ten Hag decided to give Nico and Dusan a rest. They were replaced by two substitutes who were special not only for the fans but also for the players themselves. Veltman made his comeback after almost a year of absence. It wasn't only a great moment for Veltman, but Ekkelenkamp also got to play his minutes for Ajax 1. The young player almost crowned his substitute appearance with a goal, after a good combination with Ziyech, he almost scored the 6-0.

It promises to be an exciting few weeks, with an away match in The Hague coming up next weekend. The following week, there's a midweek classic in the cup, where something needs to be put right. Then the home match against Zwolle at the weekend, before we head to Madrid with a full away section.

First up, Sunday, The Hague for 3 points and nothing less!
