Sunday away at ADO, PEC until March 13 and a look at the Future
Sunday's away match is in The Hague, a charged game for the home team, according to local authorities. For years, away fans have been denied entry, unfounded reasons given, and away fans remain unwelcome.
The SC has been exerting pressure for years to resolve all long-standing conflicts with local authorities. Where Amsterdam is collaborative and opens doors, those same doors are repeatedly closed in other municipalities.
On Sunday, a counter-voice will be heard in The Hague city center. Not only Ajax supporters, but also those of ADO are fed up. Meanwhile, there is also a long-standing conflict with the municipality of Rotterdam. Where until recently all doors remained closed there too, an opening now seems to have been found.
Ajax does not agree with the release of tickets in the away section. It remains to be seen whether legal steps will actually follow to claim these tickets. The fact is that the counter-voice is gaining more volume, and the supporters feel heard by the club again.
First, on Sunday, it's the players' turn in The Hague, and then during the week to set things right in Rotterdam. Just to further increase the pressure in the discussion about away supporters, they must win. We want to go there with at least 10,000 people again, eating frikandellen in that arcade.
After the midweek cup match, there will be no football played that weekend. The match of March 2nd has been moved to March 13th (6:30 PM). The importance of good preparation and the future of Dutch football are at stake. Ajax deliberately chooses to have less preparation for the equally important league match away at AZ on March 17th.
The future of Dutch football is important. For us, there is another future, which we consider even more important, and that is our own youth at De Toekomst.
Tonight, it's Jong Ajax's turn first; away at Telstar, the team can continue the good play of recent weeks. The Ajax women host league leaders PSV; kick-off is at 7:30 PM at De Toekomst. With a win, the women will overtake PSV, and given their form in recent weeks, this should be possible.
U19 will visit Alkmaar on Saturday, with kick-off at 3:00 PM. The Alkmaar team is at the bottom but should not be underestimated. It is up to Heitinga's boys to maintain the top spot.
The U17 hosts PSV, the bottom team visits sports complex De Toekomst. Both teams have dropped points in recent weeks. The Eindhoven team will want to move off the last place, while Ajax wants to reconnect with the leaders. It promises to be a great duel, with kick-off at 11:00 AM in Amsterdam.
The U16 is off this weekend; next weekend awaits the match against Sparta, away in Rotterdam. The U15 also goes away to Alkmaar, just like the U19 boys. Kick-off is at 12:45 PM in Alkmaar.
For the U14, the away match in The Hague is on the program. The boys can set a good example for the first team players. Win in The Hague and further increase the pressure on league leaders FC Utrecht U14.
It promises to be a great weekend.
