If Ajax manage to reach the group stage, they will most likely be placed in Pot 2 during the draw, based on the coefficient ranking. This placement is favorable for clubs such as Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Atlético Madrid, which are in the same pot and can thus avoid Ajax. Only if Arsenal wins the Europa League and thus earns a ticket to the Champions League group stage, will Ajax be placed in Pot 3. For PSV, it is still unclear in which Pot they will be placed if they reach the group stage. However, it is certain that Pot 3 is the highest achievable.
The draw will follow on July 22, after which matches will be played on August 6/7 and August 13/14. On August 5, the draw for the play-offs will already take place, the last hurdle before qualification for the finals. The play-offs will be played on August 20/21 and August 27/28.
