Race against the clock started for Alvarez

A great reception from the first steps on Dutch soil. Followed by a media circus, a medical examination, and finally a fantastic presentation. Not only the day itself, but everything surrounding it was great. Ajax's media team once again showed themselves to be absolute world-class.

No one could have missed it, not in the Netherlands and not in Mexico, Edson is an Ajax player! The big question will now be when he will be able to play his first minutes. It was already clear that a stamp still needs to be put in his passport. Whether that will have to be done here or in Mexico in person, will become clear in the coming days.

While there is an assumption of a race against time to get him ready for PAOK, we will hear in the coming days when Alavarez will make his debut as the new number 4. It is certain in any case that in a few days, this boy has already shown in every way that he is a top player who is more than proud to be able to play football in Amsterdam.

We see him as a worthy successor as a central defender and look forward to his first minutes. As number 4, on to the 35th national title! Until then, we are now looking forward to the first opportunity to win a trophy this season. Saturday is the Johan Cruyff Shield, in our own arena PSV awaits.
