Transfer market status
While it was expected that there would be a rush of transfers after the transfer window opened, it seems very quiet. Nothing could be further from the truth; many of the players in the squad have received offers. Not only from other clubs, Ajax is also doing everything possible to keep players and even strengthen the squad where possible.
Anyone who follows the rumors every day and believes everything that is written would see a completely different Ajax in the Johan Cruyff Arena in July. A forward line with Bergwijn, Promes, and even Depay, who was mentioned as a possible reinforcement. This would then require an exodus of the current forward line, something we do not expect to happen quickly.
In any case, we are not letting ourselves get carried away, we have faith in Overmars, and we hear positive sounds about the offers our own players are receiving from the club.
Not all acquisitions are well-known, and what is certain is that not everyone in the overview below will be admired in the Johan Cruyff Arena next year. Players who are on loan until the end of June this year are listed as players who will still rejoin the squad next summer. We already know that this is not the case for Wöber, which is why he is listed in the second overview, under departing players.

Expenditure of almost 25 million euros, with a number of players still listed as loaned until the end of this month. Siem de Jong is also listed as loaned until the end of June in the overview. The question will be what will happen to the player during the summer period. A return seems out of the question, although he himself recently stated in an interview that he had not yet closed the door on a new comeback.
The 25 million in expenditures seems like a lot, but it pales in comparison to the revenue. Over 90 million will come in this summer and possibly partly in subsequent seasons. Any bonuses are not included in the overview, which can only further increase the amount. As is known, many more players are being attracted. But with a colossal sum of money from the Champions League receipts and the UEFA marketing pool, a sale of anyone is not necessary.
De Ligt's departure seems certain, but he too will be able to look forward to a generous contract improvement if the opportunity arises. Tagliafico and Onana already set a good example, and they will certainly not be the last players to sign an improved agreement in the coming months.

Anyone who had already subtracted both amounts from each other came to the conclusion that the balance in terms of transfers is very positive. It is almost inconceivable that this will continue to increase, but it is the reality of the day. In the coming period, we will of course report on new transfers and then update the overviews again.
